Freight Train Art is a fun creative studio comprised of talented and dedicated people who are passionate about their art and we bring life to our clients' concepts through “creative” and innovative designs. As our name "Freight Train" connotes, we are unstoppable in our determination to deliver on schedule the desired result in order to meet our clients' satisfaction.

We have gathered a talented group of artists who have worked on many major blockbuster films such as Star Wars, Matrix, Transformers and have worked for many studios such as Lucasfilm, Disney, Warner Bros, Paramount, 20th Century Fox, EA, Ubisoft and Lucasarts. We have been featured in books and our Production Designer was instrumental in helping the award winning mini series, "John Adams", receive the prestigious Primetime Emmy Award through his matte paintings.

Roel Banzon Robles took his first film job in 1997 working at Lucasfilm with Design Director Doug Chiang on Star WarsEpisode I - The Phantom Menace, as well as Star Wars Episode II - Attack of the Clones. Under Doug's guidance and tutelage, he worked with the Art department where he developed the skills needed for the motion picture industry. After Star Wars Episode II, Roel worked as a concept designer and storyboard artist for Xulu Entertainment, a videogame company based in San Francisco. In 2002, Roel, once again, worked with Doug Chiang and his new team on Warner Brother's instant Christmas classic, The Polar Express. He then continued to freelance as a concept and storyboard artist on various films, such as Twisted, Assassination of Richard Nixon, and The Fire and The Sword. Roel also storyboarded and choreographed the martial art sequence for Doug Chiang’s teaser film Robota - the Hunted. Other notable projects included developmental bids on TV shows, web sites and role-playing games. He also has been a speaker at Oracles “Thinkquest Live”- a global, young adult web design competition in 2004 and 2005. He has gone on to work and design on films such as Beowulf, Christmas Carol, Mars needs Moms and has helped develop upcoming movies for Disney such as Yellow Submarine.

Raymond received his Masters Degree as Production Designer through the prestigious and renowned American Film Institute(AFI). His career in the film industry started soon after he had graduated, providing conceptual design and photo real matte painting for some of the biggest feature films in Hollywood. He has been fortunate enough to have worked with directors such as Frank Darabont and Robert Zemeckis, and had helped producer Gale Anne Hurd (Aliens, The Terminator, The Abyss ), writer Jonathan Hensleigh (Die Hard), director Chuck Russell (Scorpion King) and writer Ehren Kruger (Transformers, The Ring) developed their projects. In 2007, Raymond was honored by the Academy of Television Arts & Sciences for his contributions to the Emmy Award winning piece John Adams. His work has also been published in many professional magazines and books, CG World, Artiste Matte Painting2 etc.. Raymond joined Doug Chiang in 2008 to be a part of his Art Department, working on numerous Disney movies, directed and produced by Robert Zemeckis and other directors.

Fon Davis has been working in the entertainment industry for almost 20 years. Getting his start in music videos, commercials and television, he quickly moved onto other areas including creating miniatures for Tim Burton's The Nightmare Before Christmas and James and the Giant Peach. Soon after, Fon found himself as a project lead at the acclaimed Industrial Light and Magic model shop where he stayed for over 10 years. He's worked on such films as the Star Wars series, Starship Troopers, Pearl Harbor and the Matrix films at Eon. Always a fan of robots, Fon also served as a robot designer / operator on the television show Battlebots and is still active in the SF Bay area robotics community. Fon is also the creator of the comic book MORAV.

Robert E. Barnes was a concept sculptor for the Prequel Trilogy. He also wrote and drew the Star Wars: Visionaries comic Prototypes. A monster enthusiast since childhood, Robert Barnes has acted as concept sculptor for Episodes I & II, creating and fleshing out creature and character designs later brought to life by ILM. Robert studied fine art and industrial design at Sonoma State University and Art Center College of Design before earning a B.S. in Industrial Design from California State University, Long Beach. He got his start in the film world as a summer intern in the Idustrial Light & Magic Art Department, where he first met Doug Chiang during effects work on Jumanji. Upon graduation Robert returned to the ILM art department and was soon recruited by Chiang to join the Episode I Art Department. In the ensuing years, while primarily acting as a concept sculptor, Robert has also contributed designs for environments and hardware, storyboards, a variety of illustrations for Lucas Licensing, and special creature sculptures for Dorling Kindersley's Star Wars Attack of the Clones Visual Dictionary. Robert has also done sculpts for Charlott's Web, Beowulf, Spiderwick Chronicles, Christmas Carol and Mars needs Moms.

As a product designer in 1980, Larry was contacted by the model shop supervisor Lorne Peterson from ILM and was hired for 6 weeks to work on Poltergeist. Larry ended up working for ILM for 26 years. Larry's model shop experience has spanned 14 years through some of the most iconic movies of the time. He was fortunate enough to have worked on Return of the Jedi, Star Trek II, IV, VI, Back to the Future II & III, and Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom. After Jurasic Park he transitioned to be a digital modeler. His first work as a CG modeler can be seen on the film Twister. From there he was fortunate enough to have worked on more iconic movies. These movies include all three StarWars prequelss, Men in Black II, Terminator 3, Pirates of the Caribbean Dead Man’s Chest &At World’s End, and Transformers.
